Summer is trucking along faster than we’d care to admit, which means it’s time for our July edition of an activity for each day this summer. Don’t miss your opportunity to make lasting memories and squeeze every ounce of fun out of summer in Inver Grove Heights and the Twin Cities.
Saturday July 1st: Test your musical IQ at Celt’s Pub of Inver Grove Heights. They host VINGO (Music Video Bingo) on Saturdays from 9pm to 11pm.
Sunday July 2nd: Learn all of St. Paul’s shady secrets on a Wabasha Street Caves St. Paul Gangster Tour. See some of the hideouts and nightclubs frequented by some of the 1930’s most notorious gangsters on this two-hour bus tour.
Monday July 3rd: Head to Canada (but be back in time for dinner) at FlyOver America’s FlyOver Canada experience. Here’s your chance to get a bird’s eye view of the spectacular scenery of Canada in this immersive flying ride!
Thursday July 6th: Head to St. Paul for Music in Mears. Enjoy great music and beautiful scenery at this Twin Cities summer staple!
Friday July 7th: Step back in time to the summer of 1977 and see the History Theatre’s hit musical Glensheen, based on the infamous murders that occurred at the historical estate in Duluth.
Saturday July 8th: March to the beat of your own drum… Or better yet, watch how the professionals do it at DCI (Drum Corps International) Minnesota at TCF Bank stadium as 16 drum corps from across the country perform.
Sunday July 9th: Celebrate the rich Pan-Asian heritage and culture in the Twin Cities at the 2017 Dragon Festival at Lake Phalen, including traditional dances, music martial arts demonstrations and dragon boat races.
Saturday July 15th: There’s so many fun festivals happening today, we couldn’t pick just one. So we’re going to challenge you to check them all out: St. George Middle Eastern Festival in West St. Paul, Lakefront Music Fest in Prior Lake, Highland Fest in St. Paul, MN Scottish Fair & Highland Games in Eagan.
Sunday July 16th: Enjoy the sounds of the Inver Hills Community Band at St. Patrick’s Church in Inver Grove Heights
Wednesday July 19th: Dubbed the “Best Days of Summer,” the Minneapolis Aquatennial celebration is a summer tradition in the Twin Cities and offers fun for the whole family!
Thursday July 20th: Chill out at Jersey’s Bar and Grill (and grab one of their delicious juicy lucys or take advantage of their BBQ rib special) for Acoustic Dinner Thursdays.
Friday July 21st: Take a journey to the 1900’s at Dakota City’s Family & Friends Day, offering tours of a 1900’s era village, replicating what life was like in rural Minnesota more than 100 years ago.
Saturday July 22nd: Head to Mears Park in St. Paul for the 4th annual Lowertown Blues & Funk Fest, the largest free Blues Festival in the Twin Cities.
Sunday July 23rd: Let loose at the largest traveling music festival in the U.S. when The Vans Warped Tour lands at Canterbury Park.
Monday July 24th: Learn more about the history of the Wabasha Street Caves on a historic cave tour.
Wednesday July 26th: Travel to the dark side of the moon with Roger Waters as his Us + Them tour stops at Xcel Energy Center.
Thursday July 27th: Get a little closer to nature at the Pine Bend Bluffs Scientific and Natural Area (remember to bring your camera, there are stunning views of the Mississippi River valley).
Saturday July 29th: Get a ringside seat to the action at WWE PRESENTS: NXT LIVE at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium.
Sunday July 30th: Celebrate art music, food and friends at the Loring Park Art Festival.
Monday July 31st: Grab a cold beverage and take in the spectacular views of the new rooftop patio at B-52 Burgers and Brew.
